You can contact us, and we’ll discuss the matter more thoroughly 😊

If you’re still not satisfied, we will help you send the case through the proper channels, and you can refer the case to a committee of experts.

The Insurance Companies' Claims Committee

The case is first sent to the Accident Committee, which is a panel organized by the Association of Financial Institutions/Samtaka fjármálafyrirtækja (AFI/SFF), where there are representatives from each insurance company. Verna will present the case to the committee if the customer requests it. The processing time usually takes one to two weeks. There is no charge for submitting a case to the Accident Committee, and their decision is not binding for customers.

Insurance Appeal Board

You can also refer the decision of the Claims Committee to the Appeals Committee in insurance matters. The arbitration committee is active in cooperation with the Association of Financial Institutions/Samtaka fjármálafyrirtækja (AFI/SFF) and the Consumer Association/Neytendasamtakanna. The committee deals with cases involving disputes about liability, including blame and the apportionment of blame between the consumer and the insurance company. The committee usually does not discuss the amount of compensation unless both the injured party and the insurance company have requested it. If you want to refer a case to the Appeals Committee, you fill out the form and send it to the committee. The cost of the case is between 10.000 kr. to 25.000 kr.
